Every instrument we sell is covered by its manufacturer's warranty, and we handle any claim for you. This page explains what's covered, for how long, how to make a claim and what isn't included. Your statutory rights as a UK consumer sit alongside the warranty and aren't affected by it.

What the warranty covers

Faults in materials and workmanship in the optics, the mechanical parts (focus, stage, turret, stand) and the electronics (lighting, screens, cameras and batteries' circuitry) that are present when you receive the product or develop in normal use. If a covered fault occurs, the manufacturer repairs or replaces the product, and we manage that process.

How long it lasts

Levenhuk publishes a lifetime warranty on its microscopes, telescopes and binoculars, meaning for the lifetime of the product on the market, and a two-year warranty on accessories such as prepared slide sets, phone adapters, cameras and eyepieces. Bresser products will carry Bresser's warranty terms, which we'll publish here when the range goes live. Each product page states the warranty that applies to it.

How to make a claim

Email us with your order number, the product, a description of the fault and, if it helps, a photo or short video. We'll reply within one working day. For most faults we'll ask you to return the product to us; we'll give you the address and cover the return postage for a confirmed fault. Levenhuk's published aim is to complete a repair within 45 days of receiving the product, and we'll keep you updated. If a replacement is the quicker route we'll send one rather than wait for a repair. Within the first 30 days of delivery, you can choose a refund instead; see the returns page.

What is not covered

Accidental damage, including drops and cracked lenses or screens; wear from normal use; damage from misuse, modification, the wrong power supply or storage in damp conditions; consumables such as bulbs, LEDs, batteries, slides and cover slips; and products bought from anywhere other than Scope & Field. If a fault isn't covered, we'll tell you before any work is done and quote for a repair where one is possible.

Your statutory rights

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. If they aren't, you have the right to a refund within 30 days of delivery, and to a repair or replacement after that. The warranty above is in addition to these rights, not instead of them.
