Bresser Additional Objective 2x for DST-0745
Bresser Additional Objective 2x for DST-0745
Ships free in any order over £100, so it's worth adding to your microscope order.
A 2x lens that screws onto the front of the Science DST-0745 and doubles its zoom range, from 0.7x to 4.5x up to 1.4x to 9x. The DST-0745 has no eyepieces and works with a camera, so the figure you see on the screen is higher again and depends on which camera and monitor you use.
Bresser says the lens also raises the resolution significantly, so it shows finer structure rather than a bigger picture of the same detail. The cost is working room: the gap between the lens and the object comes down to about 35 mm, which still clears a pair of tweezers but not a soldering iron held at an angle.
It's aluminium, 69 g, 20 mm tall and 46 mm across, and Bresser describes fitting it as easy. Our guide to magnification explains why on-screen figures and lens figures differ, and the other camera-microscope parts are in microscope accessories.
