The Biolux NV is a compound microscope with an HD camera, for a family, home educator or hobbyist who wants to see the picture on a computer as well as through the eyepiece. The camera slides into the eyepiece tube in place of the eyepiece and sends a 1280 by 720 picture to a Windows computer by USB, with software for photos and video.

It has a metal body, LED lights above and below the stage with a dimmer and a switch between them, and a mechanical stage that moves the slide with knobs rather than by hand. 4x, 10x and 40x objectives, 5x and 16x eyepieces and a 2x Barlow lens give 20x to 1280x, and the low 20x setting is handy for whole insects and leaves lit from above. It runs on three AA batteries, which are in the box.

It comes in a hard case with a dust cover, five prepared slides, five blank slides with cover slips and a set of microscope tools. Bresser lists Windows 7, 8 and 10 for the camera software and doesn't mention Mac. The Biolux SEL below it has no camera and a lighter plastic body.
