A hundred prepared slides in a wooden box, labelled in English and German, with a printed list of contents. Most are stained for contrast. It's a bigger and more advanced set than our Levenhuk sets, with the sections and tissues that turn up in school and college biology, such as mitosis in an onion root tip, a human blood smear, human chromosomes, a cross-section of a corn stem, and lung, liver, kidney and spinal cord.

The range runs from bacteria, moulds, algae, diatoms and pollen, through plant stems, roots and leaves, to insect mouthparts and legs, hydra, planaria and daphnia, and around 30 animal and human tissue sections, among them heart and skeletal muscle, bone, stomach and lymph node.

The slides need a microscope that lights from below, so any compound microscope, and many of the sections are at their best at 400x or more, which makes it a good match for the Erudit and Researcher models. It isn't a children's set; for a younger child, the N20 NG has 20 everyday specimens.
