Diameter

A round clear glass plate that drops into the stage of a stereo microscope, as a replacement for one that has been scratched or broken, or as a spare. Light from under the stage passes through it, which is how a stereo microscope with a bottom lamp shows a dish of pond water or a translucent leaf.

There are two sizes. The 50 mm plate is 4 mm thick, weighs 19 g and fits the Bresser Junior 20x/50x stereo microscope (Bresser item 8852001). The 60 mm plate weighs 29 g and fits the Bresser Researcher ICD and the Analyth STR models. Measure the old plate, or the recess in the stage, before ordering, because the two sizes don't swap.

Bresser only confirms the fit for its own models, so for another make check the diameter of the recess with a ruler first.

Our pond life guide covers what a stereo microscope shows in a dish of water, and our stereo microscopes are listed together.
