Bresser Phase Contrast Set for Science Infinity
Bresser Phase Contrast Set for Science Infinity
A complete phase contrast kit for the Science Infinity. Phase contrast is a way of seeing living, unstained cells. Light slows slightly as it passes through a cell, and the set turns those tiny delays into differences in brightness, so a see-through cell shows up with clear edges and internal structure. Bresser names epithelial cells, amoeba and white blood cells as typical subjects, says it helps make bacteria visible, and points to cell culture and life science labs where a stain would kill the sample.
The set has a condenser with four phase rings, four matching plan achromatic, infinity-corrected objectives at 10x, 20x, 40x and 100x oil, a green filter, two adjustment screws and a centring eyepiece for lining each ring up with its objective. One condenser position is left clear, so it doubles as a brightfield condenser with an iris diaphragm.
It fits the Science Infinity only. Our guide to using a microscope covers condenser alignment, the step that phase contrast depends on, and the other lab parts are in microscope accessories.
