Bresser Plan Infinity DIN Objective
Bresser Plan Infinity DIN Objective
A plan achromatic, infinity-corrected objective in 20x or 60x, made for the Science Infinity. Infinity-corrected means the light leaves the lens in parallel rays and a second lens inside the microscope body brings it to focus. An objective of this type only works on a microscope designed for it, so it won't suit the Erudit, Researcher or Bioscience, whose lenses focus directly down a fixed tube.
Bresser describes the optics as higher grade than its standard lenses, with a particularly high resolution. The plan correction holds focus across the whole field, so there's no refocusing between the centre and the edge, and Bresser recommends them for photographic work for that reason. The 20x adds a step between the 10x and 40x on the Infinity, and the 60x sits between the 40x and the 100x oil lens for a dry, oil-free view at higher power.
The 20x weighs 90 g and the 60x 91 g, both 48 mm long. Our magnification guide covers what each step resolves, and the other lab parts are in microscope accessories.
