Bresser Stage Micrometer Slide
Ships free in any order over £100, so it's worth adding to your microscope order.
A standard 26 by 76 mm glass slide with a measuring scale deposited in metal on its surface, for calibrating measurements through a microscope. On its own it measures nothing; it's used with an eyepiece micrometer, or with the measuring tool in camera software, to work out what one division equals under each objective.
There are two versions. The 1/100 mm scale has 0.01 mm divisions, and Bresser says it suits biological and reflected light microscopes at high magnification, metallurgical models included; it's also the slide for calibrating MikroCamLabII software. The 0.1 and 0.01 mm version carries a coarse scale for low magnifications and a fine one for high, so one slide covers the 4x objective and the 100x.
The 1/100 mm slide is 2 mm thick and comes in a plastic storage box. It fits any microscope with clips for a 76 by 26 mm slide, such as the Bresser Erudit DLX, and sits with our other microscope slides. Our guide to microscope slides covers the basics.
