Levenhuk A10 Smartphone Adapter
Levenhuk A10 Smartphone Adapter
The A10 clamps your phone's camera over the eyepiece of a microscope, telescope, spotting scope or binoculars, so you can photograph and film what you see without buying a dedicated camera. It holds phones from 53 to 102 mm wide, which covers every current iPhone and Samsung Galaxy, with no limit on height, and the eyepiece clamp fits eyepieces up to about 60 mm across. The phone cradle rotates through 360 degrees and slides sideways by 57 to 105 mm, so you can line the lens up with the eyepiece whichever corner your camera sits in.
Setting up takes a minute the first time and a few seconds after that. Clamp the adapter to the eyepiece, drop the phone in, slide it until the circle of light fills the screen, then focus with the microscope's knob while watching the phone. Use your phone's main camera (the adapter can only line up one lens at a time) and avoid digital zoom, which enlarges the image without adding detail.
It fits the 23.2 mm eyepieces on our compound microscopes and the 30.5 mm eyepieces on the 2ST stereo microscope. Phones in thick cases may need the case removed. Covered by Levenhuk's two-year accessory warranty.
