Bresser's bigger Junior kit, with more than 40 parts: 20 permanent slides, 12 small stones and the tools for making slides of your own. Each slide and stone carries a QR code that opens information about it on a phone. It suits a child whose microscope also lights from above, such as the Bresser Biolux NV, since the stones need top light.
For home-made slides there are six blank slides, cover glasses and adhesive labels, a scalpel, a dissecting needle, tweezers, a Petri dish and a magnifying glass. Seven or more vials come filled with specimens, two empty ones are for finds from the garden, and a slide box keeps it all together, along with a permanent slide of butterfly wings.
The set weighs 300 g. The scalpel is a real blade, so an adult should do the slicing for younger children.
