Levenhuk M300 BASE Microscope Camera
Levenhuk M300 BASE Microscope Camera
The M300 BASE is a microscope camera that replaces the eyepiece. You take the eyepiece out of a compound microscope with a standard 23.2 mm tube, slide the camera in, and plug it into a computer by USB, which also powers it. The live picture appears on the screen, where you can save photos as JPG, BMP, PNG or TIF and record video.
The sensor is a 3 MP colour CMOS with a top resolution of 2048 by 1536. It captures 3 frames a second at full resolution and 7.5 at 1280 by 1024, so it suits still photos and slow-moving specimens better than smooth video. Levenhuk's software comes on CD and as a download, and the camera works with Windows 8, 10 and 11, macOS and Linux.
It fits the Rainbow microscopes, which have 23.2 mm tubes, and Levenhuk names it as a camera for the Rainbow 2L. It doesn't fit the LabZZ M101 (29 mm) or the 30.5 mm tubes on our stereo microscopes without an adapter, which Levenhuk doesn't sell, and it can't connect to a phone. For phone photos through any eyepiece, the A10 phone adapter is the cheaper route.
